Brazilian Felipe Drugovich scored good points in the first race of the 6th round of the Formula 2 World Championship on Saturday (11) in Baku, Azerbaijan, and increased by two his lead in the main access category to Formula 1.

Drugovich, who competes for the Dutch team MP Motorsport, started from the sixth position in the Sprint Race, which lasted 21 laps, due to the inverted grid among the top 10 in the qualifying session. The Brazilian lost a position in the first lap, but soon recovered it and for most of the race he remained sixth.

The last laps were tense, with three safety-car interventions, and in the last restart Felipe Drugovich overtook American Logan Sargeant to take the fifth position, which gave him four more points in the standings, two more than those obtained by Frenchman Theo Pourchaire, the second place in the championship.

Felipe Drugovich, who has won four races this season and scored points in ten of the eleven races disputed so far, added.

The Feature Race, the longest and most valuable race of the round, will start at 4:05am this Sunday, Brasília time, and will be broadcast live throughout Brazil by BandSports channel.
