True, he couldn't win the Austrian GP, but Max Verstappen set the fastest lap in Spielberg

Victory could have come, but it didn't. Still, Max Verstappen secured the most points by setting the fastest lap at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday. An important point to keep Charles Leclerc a little further back, as the Monegasque won the race.
It was on the 62nd lap that the reigning champion set the best time: 1min07s275. Behind him came Leclerc, with 1min07s583, 0s308 behind the Dutchman. The top-3 is completed by Fernando Alonso, who finished the race in tenth place: 1min08s558.
Carlos Sainz left Spielberg disappointed after his retirement at the 58th turn, but he was fourth on the fastest lap chart with 1min08s649. The two Mercedes are right behind, with Lewis Hamilton fifth and George Russell sixth.
Rounding out the top-10 are Valtteri Bottas, Lando Norris, Guanyu Zhou, and Esteban Ocon. The 2022 Formula One season returns on July 22-24 at Paul Ricard for the French GP.
