In qualifying at Silverstone, the rain gave very interesting contours to the practice. Dominant on a dry or wet track, the advantage of the energy team was palpable until the last lap of Q3. It was only then that Max Verstappen 'bled' and had to take his foot off due to a yellow flag after Charles Leclerc's mistake. Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz flew and did an unbeatable lap to win the position of honor at the birthplace of F1 - his first career pole-position. Also of note was Nicholas Latifi, who for the first time advanced to the final part of qualifying and will start in 10th position in England.
