Band signs contract renewal and broadcasts Formula 1 until 2025

Band, which has held the rights to broadcast Formula 1 in Brazil since 2021, will continue to broadcast the championship until 2025. In an announcement made on Tuesday (14), the Liberty Media group confirmed the renewal of the contract with the Morumbi-based broadcaster to broadcast the championship for three more seasons.

Band is back to broadcasting the Formula 1 World Championship after a 41-year break, during which the championship was in the hands of Globo, which gave up the rights at the end of 2020, opting for the non-renewal of the contract.

With Formula 1 as one of its main sports products, Band invested in the broadcasting team, with the arrival of narrator Sérgio Maurício, reporter Mariana Becker and commentators Reginaldo Leme, Felipe Giaffone and Max Wilson, all of whom had worked for the Rio de Janeiro-based network.

Besides the races, Band has expanded its coverage with pre- and post-race attractions, and has also invested in content on the closed channel BandSports, which broadcasts the free practice sessions, as well as the satellite categories Formula 2 and Formula 3.
