Silverstone Circuit - England
Britain's most traditional track is still very fast and fluid, even after the numerous renovations in the last decade. It is a venue that most drivers know very well, as almost all have raced here many times in the English or European grassroots categories. It is a very demanding track, because at the same time it has a slightly abrasive asphalt - which 'hurts' the tires - the downforce at high speeds is of paramount importance in its long, fast corners.

Silverstone has the fastest corner combination on the F1 calendar, the Copse-Maggotts-Becketts-Chapel sequence, where the car never goes below 215 km/h and is loved by drivers. There are 18 corners in total, and only one of them is done below 100 km/h. The track can be a real headache for engineers and strategists, as often the aerodynamic instability and the weather make it difficult to get a good read on strategy, especially since it often rains at some point during the weekend.

The track was built on a World War II airfield where it is very windy, which usually upsets the balance of the cars.

No one is quite sure how solo cars will behave on a track of this size, where high speeds on both straights and corners are reached time and time again. The aerodynamic drag is more of a concern than the mechanical, as Silverstone is usually free of undulations, which allows the cars to run with stiffer suspension than usual, also a characteristic of Paul Ricard in France

Ferrari and Leclerc come into this race extremely pressured, as they need to win to prevent Max Verstappen from further increasing his already good gap at the top of the championship. Mercedes also promises to ride well and may be able to contend with the Bulls and Reds in similar conditions, which could make the race very exciting for fans of the drivers of these three teams.
