O Grand Prix Power Ranking each F1 race continues today after the 11th GP of 2022 at Red Bull Ring, Austria As it has been happening for four years now, Adauto, Bruno, Leandro, Eduardo and Globo's guest Rafael Lopes - motorsports commentator at the - continues together with our team to grade all drivers after each F1 race.
The scores, as it was in 2019, 2020 and 2021, will be presented in a table with the score of each of us for each driver. In the last column of the table we will have the average for each pilot, which is what counts for the ranking.
The criteria for the grades will be the mistakes and successes of each driver in free practice, in qualifying for that GP, and in the race. But the most important will be his performance relative to the level of the car he has and to his direct opponents.
Lewis Hamilton "won" the Autoracing Power Ranking overall as the best F1 driver in 2019 and 2020, with Max Verstappen winning in 2021.
Today in the Autoracing Power Ranking you will see two tables; that of the GP in question and the overall ranking, which will change as the average of each GP goes on, as we consider this the only correct way to rank the drivers during a season.
According to the Autoracing Power Ranking raters, the Austrian GP was the second best race of the 2022 F1 season and it got an average of 8.4, only behind the British GP so far.
Charles Leclerc was the best of the race again in a wheel-to-wheel contest with Verstappen on Sunday where he managed to overtake the Dutch world champion three times in the same race to win the GP in dominating fashion. With that, not only did Leclerc win the Austrian GP Ranking, he managed to tie the overall Power Ranking for this season even in the decimal places with Max Verstappen.
This is the first time that two drivers share the lead in the Autoracing Power Ranking since we started doing it four years ago.
Mick Schumacher was also a major highlight in Austria and came in P2 in the race rankings, as did Ocon in P3 and Hamilton in P4.
We've had a few changes in position in the Autoracing and with drivers moving up or down a position.
The next race will be the French GP at Paul Ricard on the 24th of this month, a track where Red Bull theoretically can take some advantage over Ferrari and the best for Mercedes so far this season. Can the Silver Ones finally contend for victory at Le Castellet?
Daniel Ricciardo, a driver who until not long ago was considered to be at the top, now sits in second-to-last place in the Autoracing Power Ranking.
There are still 11 races to go - half of the championship - and a lot can happen by the end of the season!
