The scores, as it was in 2019, 2020 and 2021, will be presented in a table with the score of each of us for each pilot. In the last column of the table we will have the average for each pilot, which is what counts for the ranking.
The criteria for the grades will be the mistakes and successes of each driver in free practice, in qualifying for that GP, and in the race. But the most important will be his performance relative to the level of the car he has and to his direct opponents.
Lewis Hamilton "won" the Autoracing Power Ranking overall as the best F1 driver in 2019 and 2020, with Max Verstappen winning in 2021.
Today in the Autoracing Power Ranking you will see two tables; that of the GP in question and the overall ranking, which changes as the average of each GP goes on, as we consider this the only correct way to rank drivers during a season.
According to the Autoracing Power Ranking reviewers, the Monaco GP was without any surprise the worst GP of the season so far. The average score of the GP was 4.9. The organizers even had rain on Sunday to make a better race, but they didn't take advantage of it and what we saw was another procession of F1 cars as it has been happening for many, many years.
The biggest highlight was the unexpected victory of Sergio Perez, who always drove ahead of his teammate, the champion Max Verstappen in all the qualifying and race stages, and won with merits. It was the first time Perez has been first in our ranking since it was instituted in 2019.
If Perez had merits, one can't say the same thing about Ferrari, which had a double in its hands but managed to lose the race on the wrong strategy with Charles Leclerc, who also didn't have the idea - as Sainz did - to wait a bit longer to change his direct rain tires for slicks and thus save a pit stop.
Even being only P7 in the Power Ranking of this race, Verstappen still leads the overall ranking of the Autoracing Overall Ranking as the best of the year so far, although his lead over Leclerc continues to shrink.
Lewis Hamilton won the Power Ran king for Spain and moved up 3 positions in the Autoracing Power Ranking positions and is now in P6 in the table.
There are still 15 races to go and a lot can happen until the end of the season!
