O Grand Prix Power Ranking every F1 race continues today after the eighth GP of 2022 in Baku, Azerbaijan As it's been happening for four years now, Adauto, Bruno, Leandro, Eduardo and Globo's guest Rafael Lopes - motorsports commentator of the - continues together with our team to give notes to all drivers after every F1 race.
The scores, as it was in 2019, 2020 and 2021, will be presented in a table with the score of each of us for each pilot. In the last column of the table we will have the average for each pilot, which is what counts for the ranking.
The criteria for the grades will be the mistakes and successes of each driver in free practice, in qualifying for that GP, and in the race. But the most important will be his performance relative to the level of the car he has and to his direct opponents.
Lewis Hamilton "won" the Autoracing Power Ranking overall as the best F1 driver in 2019 and 2020, with Max Verstappen winning in 2021.
Today in the Autoracing Power Ranking you will see two tables; that of the GP itself and the overall ranking, which changes as the average of each GP goes on, as we consider this the only correct way to rank drivers during a season.
According to the Autoracing Power Ranking reviewers, the Azerbaijan GP was the second worst GP of the season so far. The average score of the GP was 5.5 and this happened a lot due to the breaks of the two Ferraris that left the way totally free for the Red Bull drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, who also couldn't fight on track due to the team's order.
The second peloton could have saved the race, however not much happened there either.
Verstappen won easily with Perez in second and the excellent Russell in third. Pierre Gasly was another who had a great race and was adjudged third best in Baku by the judges.
Veterans Hamilton, Vettel and Alonso also had a great race, while Schumacher, Latifi and Stroll were the worst in Baku,
There was little change in the Overall Ranking of Autoracing and Maz Verstappen remained the best of the year so far,
The next race is this weekend in Montreal, Canada, where Formula 1 raced for the last time in 2019.
There are still 14 races to go and a lot can happen between now and the end of the season!
