Fernando Alonso will start from tenth place in Baku and wants to run away from problems, especially after being the target of Alex Albon's blunt complaint

If Alpine left the feeling that it had a real chance to do very well on the Azerbaijan GP weekend after Friday, this Saturday (11) showed another reality. Esteban Ocon was left by the wayside in Q2, while Fernando Alonso had a tough time and finished tenth. He was still the target of Alexander Albon's complaints, but he guaranteed that he left happy with what he did.
According to Alonso, the result he achieved was the maximum the car had to offer. As a driver, I couldn't get any more out of it. Now, on Sunday, the objective is to stay away from the pitfalls.
"I have mixed feelings. Yesterday we were quite fast and we expected a bit more from today, but we lost competitiveness on Saturday," he lamented.

"I'm satisfied with qualifying. These 0s3 or 0s4 that separate us from sixth place really didn't exist for us," he assured.
"A lot of things are going to happen tomorrow and you can't make any mistakes. There will be pitfalls, but we have to stay away from them.
Regarding Albon's complaint at the end of Q1, when the Williams driver trying to avoid elimination got stuck behind a slow Alonso, he minimized. Albon even said that the two-time champion, who had just made a mistake a few moments before, had purposely disturbed his lap. Alonso defended himself.
"Q1 was a general chaos. I went out on track with used tires, and he was faster. If they had gone out a minute earlier, they would have been in front of me. And then I made a mistake at turn 15," he explained.
