Fernando Alonso praised Andretti and said it would be great for Formula One to have such a passionate and professional team on the grid

The possible entry of Andretti into Formula 1 continues to divide opinions behind the scenes of the main category of motorsport. While some teams fear sharing the revenue with another team, others support Michael Andretti's move. McLaren, led by Zak Brown, has been the most vocal in its support for the American team.
Alpine has also been a great ally, since it could be the supplier of Andretti's power units. Fernando Alonso, driver of the French team, praised the organization a lot and said that it would be great for Formula 1 to have the American team on the grid.

"They are a great organization, very professional, they have great people. Formula 1 is a different level for sure, but they are passionate about motorsports and I think it will be great for the sport to have Andretti's name on the grid," said Alonso.
Andretti was very close to entering Formula 1 at the end of the 2021 season. The team had an agreement to take over Alfa Romeo this year, but disagreements on the final details ended the deal. Now Michael Andretti is trying to negotiate a participation in the category starting in early 2024.
