Alfa Romeo goes green and presents special livery for Azerbaijan GP

In order to highlight the new car model that Alfa Romeo presented in a showroom, the team will adapt the paintwork

Alfa Romeo has a new feature for next weekend's Azerbaijan GP in Formula 1: a car in the colors of the Italian flag. The decision to paint the rear of the car green was made in honor of the launch of the new Tonale car model in showrooms across Europe this week.

The Italian brand says that the electric model is an "important metamorphosis into a new era of connectivity and electrification" and is therefore worth the tribute. The choice of the color shade, Montreal Green, is to highlight the company's "most sustainable concept."

In this way, the green appears from the rear to the engine cover and is followed by a white-colored mid-car, while the entire front extension follows with Alfa Romeo's traditional red. The model name, Tonale, has also been inscribed amidst the green, just below the Alfa Romeo name.

On the track, Alfa Romeo has had a positive year so far and occupies fifth place in the Constructors' World Championship: it has 41 points against 40 for Alpine, which is right behind. It is an extremely favorable comparison to ninth place in 2021. All the points were scored by Valtteri Bottas, who has rookie Guanyu Zhou as his teammate.
